If there was a similar active thread, yes.

I locked it as soon as I saw someone had started a post game thread. It really doesn't matter to me one way or another whether we have one game thread or a game thread and a post game thread. It just so happens that we've always done the dual thread thing. We've been doing it for a long time, and I'd think most people would be used to it by now. Apparently you're not and it bothers you for some reason. Why that is, I haven't a clue, but fwiw I really don't appreciate the fascist comment.Leroy wrote:Seriously, which one of you had the finger on the trigger to lock that thing just as the game ended?
I'm not saying you're wrong, but locking it smells like facism.

I don't think the problem is necessarily with locking the GDT. I think it's good to lock it down after the game, so the post-game thread is used for post-game analysis. But I think waiting like 5-10 minutes would be a good grace period to let people wrap up any conversations going on in the GDT, and let people post their own quick recap of the game.
I don't think waiting 5-10 minutes will cause a huge amount of duplication.

I refuse to be locked. I'm an American. I have rights.Michael wrote:If there was a similar active thread, yes.
If my threads aren't good enough for archives, they aren't good enough to be locked.
Give me threads, or give me death.

I don't remember this last year, so if 6 or so games is a long time, then ok.thrill wrote:I locked it as soon as I saw someone had started a post game thread. I was just teasing about the facism.

I hear what you are saying but most conversations don't wrap up that cleanly.BenNX74205 wrote:I don't think the problem is necessarily with locking the GDT. Again, we can do away with the post game threads if that's what most posters want. It's not a huge deal either way. I just don't want 2 open threads both discussing the game.

Wouldn't you just solve this by leaving the game thread open?Michael wrote:I hear what you are saying but most conversations don't wrap up that cleanly.BenNX74205 wrote:I don't think the problem is necessarily with locking the GDT. Also, the idea for post game threads were born more from the flashchat days when users game back to BT.

This is site support / suggestions. If you can't handle suggestions, no matter how wrong minded they are, just delete the whole thing.

We'd have 2 threads discussing the exact same topic, which is confusing and annoying.
