I'm hoping the Patriots go undefeated so all those losers on that '72 Dolphins team can go privately to rot and look for another meaningless accomplishment to try and hang their hats on, since their purpose in life will be null and void.

What a bunch of pathetic ex-jocks.
Wait a second. 17-0, the only perfect season in professional sports... that's not meaningless. Or are you saying that sports in general are meaningless in the face of actual accomplishment? That, I could understand. But a perfect season is pretty amazing, IMO.
I get a little fed up with the general arrogance they have about going undefeated (gathering together and cracking open some champagne to celebrate when the last undefeated team loses a game).

I mean, their record can't be broken, only tied. I don't see why they feel the need to celebrate when someone else (who isn't even their opponent) loses. Another team going undefeated doesn't take away from what they did.

Eh, it's a pretty huge accomplishment. They can celebrate it however they want. Is it really that big of a deal? I'd be extremely proud too if I'd been a part of that.

I don't look at it as celebrating a huge accomplishment; it's more like now that they're celebrating other's failures.

In a sense, their record can be broken because teams play 2 extra games now (thus making it that much harder to go undefeated). If the Pats run the table I guarantee you you'll hear that enough for its own rant thread.

I think of it as celebrating another season of being the only team in NFL history to go undefeated.

I privately make a toast each year when the Cubs are eliminated from winning the World Series. Is that a bad thing?

It's a great accomplishment, the way they handle themselves about it makes it meaningless in the grand scheme of things given how stupid they look flaunting it.

I just want them to go away.

They celebrate it like a bunch of jackasses, it's one of those accomplishments where you'd want someone to go undefeated.

Given how stupid they appear to be, I question if a future Dolphins team was close to going undefeated how they would react.

It's fun to get all up in arms when someone says something controversial- by controversial, I mean he answers a question with something other than "no comment" or the standard cliches.
Then it's even more fun to say how the media always makes a big deal out of what we were just making a big deal out of.

“The Patriots have assembled a powerhouse of a team. They are a classy bunch of guys and play ball the right way. If they want to join the unbeaten club, come on aboard.”
He's talking about the New England Patriots?
