NBA fans?

Pretty much I'll go:

1) Blues
2) Cards
3) Something else to do
4) Rams or Mizzou football, - whomever is having a better season

I'll follow other hockey teams via web articles, but I won't watch them much or at all. I'm at the point where soccer will probably come next.

I can only afford one of the sports packages, so I chose baseball (and don't regret it either).

The only team I semi-follow in the NBA is the Hornets. If they're on, I watch; otherwise, not really.

The Cavaliers are the only team I picked up from my time in the Cleveland area. It's the weakest of my sports allegiances, even moreso that I can't watch them play on TV whenever I want.

I think of all the sports, NBA players do things that make me go "How'd he do dat?" more than any other. Those guys are just unreal, and I think I've finally come to look past some of the negative side of NBA basketball and see that.

The Nuggets are supposed to be pretty good this year, and I wouldn't mind going to a game. I just can't see paying the price.

$140 for a decent seat on the lower level? I don't want to go that bad.

Not only are they a contender, but they're about as entertaining as any team in the NBA. When you throw Iverson and Carmelo on the court together, special things are going to happen. Throw the defensive player of the year and shot-blocker extraordinaire (Camby) into the mix, along with athletic power forwards like Kenyon Martin and Nene, and you've got a pretty electric atmosphere.

I wish they had a better coach than Karl, but they'll win more than they lose on talent alone.

I used to like pro basketball more than anything, but the lack of fundamentals (mid-range shooting, solid team defense, friggin free throws), I kind of lost interest.

I'd rather watch a upper mid-major college game now any day.

I miss those things too Leroy. Havlicek, Robertson, Alcinder, Frazier... The 3 point shot really changed the game, but I guess we could look at any sport and say the same thing. THey all change, and not always for the better. I like the style of the old game, but the athleticism of the new.

My youngest is a sports nut, whatever is in season he will watch. As a kid I was a big NBA fan - the Bucks with Lew Alcinder, Bob Dandridge, Oscar Robertson, etc.. were my team.

Sadly enough, another Bucks fan here. Yi is something to be excited about but the lack of ball movement and teamwork is disgusting and I can barely stand to watch.

I was actually happy a couple years ago when that Greek team beat the USA. I know that sounds unpatriotic but I was only able to watch the first ten minutes of that game and I said that it was a shame that Greece was probably going to end up losing because it was refreshing to see a professional team play the way they did. Backdoor cuts, pick and roll, offense that moves...and they just kept doing it...and it kept working.

I'll take Leroy a step further...I find it more enjoyable to watch girls college basketball.

I used to be that way with womens basketball but I think it's come a long way in the past ten years. Yes, it used to be so frustrating to watch. But now their fundamentals are better than mens in many ways. And they know how to hit free throws.

Late sixties/early seventies was when I started following sports and I too latched on to some teams for awhile that were popular then. My favorite football team, in addition to the Pack, was Miami. Loved Czonka, Kiick, Morris, Warfield, Little, Scott, etc. And I actually converted to an LA Lakers fan for awhile when they had Wilt, West, Baylor, Goodrich and Hairston. I guess that one year from Milwaukee wasn't enough for me. And of course in college basketball, UCLA was the team to root for. Although we had season tickets to the Bradley games, there wasn't much to cheer for come tournament time. It's funny because I now have a strong dislike for all of those teams. The Lakers and UCLA, and their Hollywood following, make me sick. The Dolphins, after following them throughout all of the Marino years and even the Jimmy Johnson era, now makes me ill to think about all those years I tuned in with newfound hope. I hope they go 0-16. But I will be rooting for New England to lose one this year.
