You're definitely right. On the Pressbox one morning after West MO left St. Louis with all the hardware from the Dome, Rammer and Frank suggested that one of the reasons football hasn't been that successful in St. Louis is because they are lacking a football mafia -- a group of parents that will push for a coach to be fired if they don't win. It has worked quite well for soccer and works to an extent in basketball, but it is an absolute mystery why football teams cannot keep up with the other side of the state.If the STL area schools don't like all those trophies winding up in Jeff City and assorted KC area locations, perhaps the STL area schools should do something about the overall quality of play,.

You've got it. Season starts a week earlier. This cluster of a district loser gets in playoff system doesn't start until the '08 season. As far as I know, the new rule that teams that finish in second place in districts does not start until the 2008 season. Someone like Radio or Val Card might be able to claify that though.
