All I did was go to baseball-reference and grab the numbers. "Looking at" and "crunching" are not the same.
Spare me.

Save the crunching for your abs.

I think the post was aimed at me, Steverino. For some reason, my thread where I predicted the Cardinals to be an average offensive team for the next few years was interpreted as another thread moaning about the offense this year.

I don't think it was aimed at anyone in particular. He was referring to the general tone of the board (myself included).

It wasn't aimed specifically at you, either. And the intention certainly wasn't for people to read it and their first response to be "I wonder if this is a shot at me". It's just the general tone.

Well, one might say it's hard to judge how good this offense is (i.e. will it be average for the next few years) until the offensive players start hitting at even somewhat "normal" levels.

I mean, the team is scoring some runs right now, and winning a few games. They've even busted-out a couple of times. When they all start hitting "normally", will the offense be average, or above average? I personally think slightly-above, depending on how much Edmonds rebounds.

I did not interpret the post as aimed at me, or at anyone in particular. But neither did I see other posts suggesting that the offense would be THIS bad ALL year -- which RC seemed to be implying -- hence my question.

And as always, I'm perfectly happy with the response I got from RC.

Sorry, after seeing Snayke's post I tired clarify things. I guess I didn't succeed. :? :D

Correct. That's a point that I concede.

Well, I'm sure it'll come around too. It'll probably coinside w/ the time that the pitching staff stops throwing great baseball.
