Alternative Playoff Teams

Devil Rays, Indians(this one has at least a decent chance of happening if they ever get out from under the snow), Rockies, Rangers, Nationals, Pirates, heck even the Blue Jays or Orioles. Just get some new, young blood in the tournament. I'm tired of seeing Yankees, Red Sox, A's, Braves(at least it didn't happen last year), Dodgers/Giants in the playoffs every season.

About rooting for the Cubs if they won the division over the Cards...I probably still wouldn't do it, but I might not be so vehemently against it like I was in '03 now that the Cards have won it all. I just didn't want the Cubs to win a world series before I got to see one for my team. Now, maaaaaaaaaaaybe I could find myself hoping they'd win depending on the team they were playing in the world series(like the Yankees or Red Sox).

Do you people realize how absolutly UNBEARABLE their fans would be?

Hell, Cubs fans are unbearable after they take 2 of 3 from the Cardinals in MAY...what do you think they would do if they won a flipping World Series?

You guys saying you'd cheer for the Cubs must live on the east coast or west coast and not around Cubs fans..because if you had to be around Cubs fans when they are successful you'd make yourself deaf..

no doubt, and working at Ameristar Casino I had to put up with Cubs fans over the weekend... they had the whole thing of how we won the World Series, and then one of the guys was "well at least we didn't start 0-3"

I know too many Yankee/Red Sox fans to root for them over any other team in the world series. If it came down to those two against the Cubs, I might have to root Cubs.

I have good friends who are good Cub Fans.

Too many good Cub fans who deserve something positive. I'm not talking about the yahoos who you talk smack with every day. I'm talking about the diehards.

There is NO REASON that the Marlins should have 2 WS victories in the last 15 years. I will never root for them over the Cubs. Cubs and their fans deserve it more.

I can see your point. Throwing a Cubs World Series win against the Yankees in the face of some of my co-workers might make it worth it, as long as the Cubs don't go at our expense. Still, they would be extremely annoying - they already think they are better than the Cards. It would be mass hysteria - maybe they would burn down Chicago while celebrating...

I'd like to see the Brewers go, I like their youngsters and they need it as a town and team.

From the AL, the A's. Probably just because I work for a minor league affiliate and hope to get a WS ring if they win, but also because I know some of the guys that play for them now. Travis Buck, Huston Street and guys that could be up this year, Daric Barton, Jason Windson, Shane Komine, all great guys.

I also like Andre Ethier on the Dodgers, he's also a class act and a very hard worker
