I think this joke is waaaaay to complicated.

It's the physics of why cats always land on their feet, and bread always lands buttered-side down.

I thought it was the physics of what would happen if you attached bread, buttered side up to the back of a cat.

So it shows the angle he would land at because of the counteracting forces.

I thought the same thing, and I think it's funnier that way. If I glued buttered toast to a cat and threw it out of a building, what hits first?
