Pretty much. Except that I would emphasize the last part--"better arm". They're both consistent. Suppan is consistently league-average, while Weaver is consistently a slight step above.

Walker right now would be better than anyone else available at the deadline.

I hope people realize and appreciate just how good he was with the Cardinals. An amazing player, pure talent. Definitley one of the top 5 of his generation. Just didn't stay healthy.

How great would it be if the Cards announced next week that Walker will be reporting to AAA Memphis for 2 weeks to prepare for the stretch run? He's been secretly training all season to be ready to handle 3 months at the end of the season, as he didn't think his neck/back could handle the full 7 month grind.

It's totally not going to happen, but I suppose it's not completely implausible.

Funny thing is, with Walker in the lineup Juan E would look pretty darn good in left.

Excellent point. And you're right- I'm not sure people could look past the games he had to sit to notice what he was doing when he didn't sit.

Of course, he didn't help his cause with that October he had last year

I'd like to agree. I definetly agree with you RC. But I've got this huge man crush on Carl Crawford. I think Walker would bring a ton to this team and make an immediate impact. But if I had choose? Gimme my man crush.

He was actually starting to heat up near the end, but it was too late. Given the postseason he had the year before (especially in the World Series--.357/.438/.929), I was willing to cut him some slack.
