Not a bit, mi amigo. You just need to learn to accept it as true when you learn something that you didn't know, eg that MU and KU are huge rivals and that it matters not if you or anyone else was unaware of that fact.

Not a bit, mi amigo. You just need to learn to accept it as true when you learn something that you didn't know, eg that MU and KU are huge rivals and that it matters not if you or anyone else was unaware of that fact.

I was basically saying that I wasn't aware of it, and that it's not as prevalant in the part of Missouri that I live near. That's all.

I didn't know that Missouri/Kansas was a rivalry. And I'm still not entirely certain why it is. I live in the Midwest, but I'm a LONG way from Kansas. In my neck of the woods (and I live 5 minutes from Missouri, and work with dozens of Missourians), the Missouri folks are far more concerned about beating Illinois than they are about beating Kansas. I don't know who voted in this poll, but they say that Illinois is a bigger rival for Missouri than Kansas is:

If you scroll down on that same page, there is a poll asking "Which other state is Missouri's biggest sports rival"? Illinois won that poll. That was a bad link, as it turns out...... it's all over the place.

Regardless, I'm surprised that Missourians are so defenisve about who their biggest rival is. Why not just hate everyone, and have it done with.

And I think the rivalries are more about basketball than football.....at least it was much bigger when the basketball teams played, now it's gained intensity with football as well. JMO
