ESL 34 GHS 26.

Disaster in the 1st half. Score tied at 7 and our QB throws a pick that goes 76 yards for a TD. Worse than that, he gets blocked on the play and breaks his collarbone. We were down 26-7 at the half, but fought back and tied the game at 26 in the 4th. ESL went up by 8 early in the 4th, and we had a couple of opportunities but didn't cash in.

Sounds like the boys in blue fought hard through some adversity.

If you are in to HS football, this(ESL) is a team to watch for the next few years. The stars of ESL are two Soph's and a Freshmen, so you have a couple of years to see them. Exceptionally talented young men from what the reports of the game say.

Reminds me of the Bob Shannon days....I went to some of the playoff games back then with my dad and brother. One at the old stadium (that will scare the crap out of a person!) and one at the new/current stadium......I hope some of these talented boys commit to Illinois!

Speaking of ESL, I heard Bob Shannon retired from CBC.

E. St. Louis was defeated by Wheaton-Warrenville S. 26-0 last night.

Jim, did you happen to catch the Oak Forest/Lemont game last night on TV? The game was 20-20 with 2 minutes left and there were 3 fumbles around the Oak Forest 10 yd. line before Lemont got the ball for a second time and scored.
