When I see your name in Baseball Talk, a lot of the time I'll click on your profile and read all the posts that say "Minor League Forum."

You expressed a sentiment earlier in the thread about not knowing what certain stats mean, but that you'd like to. I put together a quick list of sites [here] in Leroy's first try at an 18-page Site Support/Suggestions Forum thread. [This is a great glossary], by the way.

I started posting on Cards boards last fall, and although I felt like I knew a lot about the game, I played for a long time and was always a die hard Cardinals fan, I felt like I didn't really know much about this way that people looked at baseball that was foreign to me. So every time I'd get my ass handed to me by greenback on Scout (just kidding) I'd get on Google and figure out what the hell everything meant.

I could either affirm my observations about baseball, or learn how I was wrong. Who wouldn't want to do that? Nothing's really personal to a fake name on the internet.

Some of it piqued my interest (I completely understand that there are a lot of baseball fans that don't care, no problem) so I spent a decent amount of time trying to familiarize myself with stats-type stuff. Now, I have no clue compared to a lot of people on this forum, but I feel like I can at least use some stuff to back up my point, or really to understand the game in a different way. A lot of stuff, like not making outs and getting total bases (OPS) always made sense to me intuitively.

Anyway, that's long-winded and boring, but it's all to say that if I had just sucked it up and asked questions (like you just did) then people could have pointed me in the right direction. If you (or anyone), and I don't know if this will ever actually happen, ever have a question about something (and I don't even really feel qualified to say this other than that some of it doesn't look quite so much like Mandarin Chinese to me, like it used to -- and I suck at math) then PM me. I mean that seriously. Of course, that's if people don't want to ask in the thread. Which should be nothing short of encouraged.

So yeah. Sorry if I've been a dick to anyone. I am, all the time. I sometimes have a problem in real life, because I have an annoying habit of being opinionated and blunt when I don't mean anything close to being personal. I'm like Kramer, but less racist and less funny. I think I'm missing that part of my brain.

I'm also pretty dry and sarcastic and refuse to do things like smileys and font colors, so I'm sure that doesn't help the translation on the interwebs. And sorry if I've been the letter of the law guy that Fat Strat's talking about, I'm sure I have been at times.

I really only get angry (not that anyone should care what I think, but I'm not the only one) at the passive aggressive anti-stat jokes (remarks) that littered BT for a while there. Not because people need to like stats at all, but because I hate it when people mock things they don't understand just because [insert reason here]. But that's a well-documented feeling of mine.

I'm not sorry that I argue with Popeye about Aaron Miles though. Miles should be drawn and quartered.

That's it. I'm sicking Aaron Miles on you. I hope you're wearing ankle protection--he bites hard.

You know, you also don't have to ask the question in the open forum. I've pm'd jim, haltz, longhorn, and steverino many times to ask questions.

They screen their calls now.

Can this thread be a sticky? I don't want it to drop off the page.

I don't know why you thought that I would know where to get "good midget amputee porn" but I don't. We all have to draw the line somewhere.
