So the key here is legality, because both are clearly drugs. But one is deemed okay by the government and the other is not.

Hence, being a druggie has more to do with breaking the law than using drugs.
It's a legal and ethical issue in my book. It's also raw meaning, i.e.:

Dan takes aspirin, Dan is a druggie. Well....aspirin is a drug, right?
So is it unethical because it is illegal, or unethical because it is recreational, as opposed to prescribed? Both?

Not trying to badger you or anything, so if you don't feel like talking about this there's no need.

Why the distinction?
I know better than to call someone else a druggie on this forum.
I was hoping I was missing something, like you had a problem with drugs. In this case, you basically did do what you say you know better than to do. I wasn't trying to bait you here, I was honestly curious when I asked.

So druggie does not equal abuser to you?

I think it's a interesting use of a word that obviously has a greater meaning among most other people. To most people, druggie carries a negative connotation. A meth addict is a druggie, and kid taking Tylenol
is not a druggie.

Not saying you're wrong, it's just an interesting way to use that word.

Yea, I know it's kinda weird to say a meth addict and a child taking Tylenol Cold are both "druggies". But, in reality, they both are cuz they are both taking drugs. It just so happens they are taking them for different reasons not to mention the child is not an addict.

By these standards everyone is a druggie.
Caffeine is a drug. Who knows how many children and adults regularly use this.

Here are some examples of indie rock:

Trashcan Sinatras

The Wrens

Boyracer

Denali

Beulah

Ulrich Schnauss

Despite some of the characterizations made earlier in this thread, it’s a pretty diverse genre.

Edit: maybe I should finish reading threads before replying so that I don’t make posts that seems so out of place. Oh well.

You should not have to make any apologies for making a post about the thread's topic, NP.

i wouldn't call even indie a genre. it's a blanket statement like classic rock. there isn't a defined style for either "genre".
