Those A's Team pitching staff had Duncan all over it. I wish I could have seen those older staffs (born in 82). I bet a three game series for LA when Kofax and Drysdale where pitching two of three would have been amazing.

The '96 Braves! I'll never forget the NLCS and losing those 3 straight games when we were up 3-1.

The combined score for those 3 games was something like 30-1. That was dominate pitching!

Without looking it up, the other two starters for LA in 1966 (after Koufax and Drysdale) were Osteen and Sutton. Not a bad starting 4.

The 1968 Cardinals had a nice rotation, too - Gibson, Briles, Carlton, and Washburn.

The 1985 Cards had two 20-game winners (Andujar and Tudor) and an 18-game winner (Cox).

The 1979 Astros staff reminds me that Richard and Niekro split the Cy Young vote, which is how Bruce Sutter was able to win the award.

And remember, Tudor started off that season 1-7. A pretty impressive finish to say the least.

the '04 Astros had a pretty good staff too:

Roger Clemens
Andy Pettite
Roy Oswalt
Wade Miller

Obviously Pettite and Miller had sub-par seasons, but those 4 pitchers all hade huge upside at the time.

the '05 White Sox were nice in that all 5 pitchers made 30+ starts and 200 innings (well conteras had 196)

The '03 Diamondbacks had a nice staff if everyone had been healthy. Three future or present Cy Young winners. (and '02 may have had the best 1-2 starter seasons in years)

The '03 Marlins look good too, Brad Penny, Dontrelle Willis, Josh Beckett, Carl Pavano,

The '02 A's had Mulder, Zito, and Hudson all put out great seasons and Harang as their #5.

Risking blasphemy charges, I'd say the 03 Cubs had one of the best rotations in recent memory. Their W-L isn't that impressive, but they had good stuff.

Of course, it dropped of steeply at the 5th spot with either Juan Cruz or Shawn Estes

I always thought that the 2001 M's staff ERA+ of 119 was pretty impressive, although I don't have a whole lot of context for that. Otherwise, most of the really good rotations that I have seen pitch have been mentioned.
