Taking it easy: got some nice presents from the family, took a walk with my wife, and picked up some Indian food from the best Indian/Nepalese restaurant in town.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑September 27 26, 9:42 amBirthday Bump @sighyoung

Nice weather, too: sunny and 75 degrees.

Yes, and it did not disappoint today, either.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑September 27 26, 4:12 pmKathmandu?sighyoung wrote: ↑September 27 26, 3:51 pmTaking it easy: got some nice presents from the family, took a walk with my wife, and picked up some Indian food from the best Indian/Nepalese restaurant in town.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑September 27 26, 9:42 amBirthday Bump @sighyoung

Happy belated bday, Sigh!
More questions:
Why does every fiction novel these days have a title like "The Little Things We Do In The Darkness"?
Why doesn't everyone love Gary Saunders? They should love him.
Bourbon really is just sugar whiskey, right?

Re: Questions/comments for sighyoung
It sure seems like a ton of fiction has titles like that. I don't know why, because as soon as I see a comparable title, my eyes glaze over and I never pick up the book. Since I have a dark view of humanity, anyway, why have that confirmed by a novel and feel even worse?
Plus, so much fiction and film turns me off because I ask myself, "Really? Would this really happen? Naw."
Do you mean George Sauders? Because, yes, he is, indeed, great.
I'm jaded about bourbon because it seems the regional economy bet big on it, and that's biting it in the ass with overproduction and tariff wars. But then I'm supposed to celebrate a two-minute horse race for a full month. Louisville: the city that gave you cigarettes, faux gentility, the prevention of universal health insurance (thanks to Elmer Lee Henderson), the disco ball, and the bourbon fad.
