I’m getting a new kitten (Update: Meet Simba)

After seeing that Marcell Ozuna has been released by the Pirates and seeing an advertisement for kittens on my neighborhood Nextdoor page, I decided to ask about getting one of the kittens. I was told by the owner that she had decided to give me a boy kitten. I have to fill out some paperwork for my apartment complex to get permission to get a second cat, but after that I can go to the owner’s house and pick him up. Now I have to think of a name. Keeping with my tradition of naming my cats after baseball players, I would like some suggestions.

Would you prefer a modern era ballplayer or historical names?

Any name will do. I would like several so I have a choice.

Some ideas from some of the names that I think might work for a pet. I have always used old people names for my pets. My dog is named Gus.

Willie McGee (you could probably go with Willie or McGee for a cat, that might be fun)

Goldy (for Goldschmidt; might work depending on the color of the cat)

I knew Simba was the name of the main character in the Lion King, but I looked up Ted Simmons’ Wikipedia page to see when he got the nickname and it said it was in the 1970’s when he was with the Cardinals, because he wore his hair long like a lion’s mane. And I noticed that today is his birthday so that clinched it for me. I’m going with Simba.
