Guys, Stanek sucks. Graceffo is bad. Roycroft, Svanson and Bruihl should be in the minors. There are three above-average arms in the bullpen and one of them wasn’t available. And the starter tonight is really a reliever.
Graceffo is not bad; like at all

Graceffo, Soriano, O’Brien (and JoJo and Fernandez when available) are the 3 guy with the lead. If you need a 4th, then it’s svanson, who’s not rebounding and pitching great like he did all of last year.
He does have a negative fWAR. The regression is coming hard.
He’s got a positive 1.1 bWAR; and Stanek is negative

Are you going to stanek before him?

Or are you pulling him to put Stanek in?

There’s no justification for lifting Soriano after 8 pitches and letting stanek lose the game 3 times.

Embarrassing decisions.

Unfortunately, part of being cheap is using an under qualified manager instead of someone who can actually do the job. Wasn’t a big deal when we thought we were re-building and Oli would just be the sacrificial lamb.

But now that we have a competitive team, it’s a major disparage having a terrible manager.

Most managers aren't going to ask a pitcher to cover multiple innings on back-to-back days, especially a high-leverage guy in a game the Cardinals were losing. That's a lot of up and down and you need to be careful with the few guys out there who are half-decent.

Losing? We were winning BOTH innings when Stanek was brought in? Are you talking about someone else?

He’s talking about Soriano. But we were winning when he was lifted. So he’s still wrong of course.

They were losing when Soriano's inning ended. Then the Cardinals batted forever and scored three runs. Managers aren't putting Soriano back out there to cover 10 outs in two days.

Look, you need more good pitchers in the bullpen. Period. That's on Bloom and ownership. They took the winter off besides selling contracts for A ball guys because they thought the team was going to be bad. It cost them tonight.

You’re making my point

Soriano is your best reliever; he should only be used in games that you’re winning close or closing out games

So the plan should've been to use Soriano for two innings. Then use ... somebody besides Stanek, which means Roycroft or Svanson. Then use O'Brien.

Sometimes guys have to perform.
