Cardinals win their sixth in a row and clinch a series win against the Mets. Pallante threw six solid innings and gets the win and improves to 7-4 on the season. Mets opener Warren takes the loss and is 1-3. Svanson and Romero combined for three scoreless relief innings. The Cardinals had homeruns from Nelson Velasquez, Jordan Walker and Alec Burleson. Walker's 17th homer sets a new career high in a season for him with 97 games left to play.
Andre Pallante is 7-4. Let that sink in.

Tomorrow brings yet another opportunity to get to 10 games over .500 for the first time in several years.

I know less about pitching than anyone (ANYONE!) but for whatever reason, he's having almost exactly the season in 2026 (3.88 ERA, 103 ERA+) that he had in 2024 3.78 ERA, 109 ERA+). Which is a perfectly cromulent, low cost #4 type starter. It's what we all expected in 2025, and just didn't happen.

I get that ground ball, pitch to contact pitchers will probably show that kind of variation because they're dependent on defense and batted ball outcomes. Who knows what else is at work here, but it's great to see.
