Have we had a closer by that definition the last 30 years? If I had to guess offhand, Rosenthal would be closest in terms of his whole tenure with the team, but I could be off on that. Feels like "Izzy/Isringhausen" is almost a shorthand for "guy who walks 2 guys and gives up a run before getting the save". Helsley had a good year or so.
