Thinking about a minor league + STL trip
The other night I had the thought to take a trip to all the Cardinals stadiums I can get to and see a game.
Basically it'd be Indy > Peoria > STL > Springfield > Memphis, then either to see my parents and sister who now live in Alabama or just head back home. Might just be me, but I might take my oldest son with me if his college/work schedule allows.
Not sure how when or over how many nights yet - has to line up with team schedules, but that'd be the reason for the trip so it might end up being one every day and nothing else. Might try to build in an extra day for each for rain delays, but we'll see. Hotel nights start stacking up at that point.
Cardinals game at Busch might be trickier to line up tickets, but I'd be happy to meet up/attend with anyone that lives in those areas. Also would welcome any tips if there are any.

Re: Thinking about a minor league + STL trip
Minor League games are fun. I catch at least one Clippers game every year; sometimes more if the summer allows it. I've got a lot of ML games on the agenda this year so it might be harder to see them this year even though they are local to me.
When you look at schedules, you might be able to see one of them in a visiting park that is still in the general area. Memphis is playing Iowa this week for example. Although I was just saying I would like to see a game in Memphis sometime. They have a nice looking park.

Thought about that, but still I want to hit the home parks just for the sake of doing it. Also thought about trying to squeeze in a Cards game at Chicago first because I've still never been to Wrigley, but it doesn't really line up for the rest of the trip.

Re: Thinking about a minor league + STL trip
Trip is all set for next week, me and my oldest on break from college.
Game in Peoria on Sunday
Decided to go over to KC on Monday - Negro League Museum and we both like old jazz so we're hitting the jazz museum next door
Game in Springfield Tuesday night @InvincibleCakeEater
Game in STL on Wednesday
Home on Thursday
Wanted to hit Memphis too, but it didn't work out schedule-wise.
Looking forward to that Springfied game now - Baez, Baez, Rainiel, Ragsdale, Cho, etc... and maybe Doyle or Franklin. (forgot Cijntje was already called up.)

Sounds like a fun trip ghost, enjoy.
We went to the Negro Leagues museum last June on Father's Day weekend when the Cardinals were there; it was a really great visit. Give yourself at least an hour and a half.
Also in KC, not baseball related, the WWI memorial museum is amazing if you are looking for something extra to do. Also eat at Niecie's restaurant!!
