I have to say, there is no reason this roster should be 11-8 at this point. Not overall great comp thus far, but you still wouldn't expect this record.

Good variance will undoubtedly give way to poor variance, but I'm sure loving Winning > Losing.

I also wonder what it says about the manager. Is he decent? Or is it merely good fortune?

Run differential is pretty bad and obviously selecting endpoints you'll get a bunch of these stretches over the course of a season. Our robot overlords tell me there are 144 19-game windows to look at in a given season and this should happen 20 or 21 times to a .500 team, but it's been a really fun club to watch and those 11 wins are in the bank. Some other computer at FG thinks they have a 13% of playing a postseason game which is cool.

They do seem like a team that could play much better than anyone thinks is possible. They are young but oddly very experienced and vibe well. Even JJ has played in some big games and is coming in more polished. Walker, Scott, Burleson, Herrera, Winn, Saggese, and even Pages and Gorman are all entering their prime years with a couple seasons under their belts. It's been fun to see so far.

I think Gorm is about to go off and hit 30 bombs this year.

I'm weirdly optimistic about the lineup but we just don't have the pitching to sustain success this year.
