Re: Random musings
I used to see them occasionally in Arizona. They're pretty cool looking IRL.

We'll probably be wrapping up the first harvest without my Dad or Uncle at the helm within the next four days. It's been weird, but it's helped that they are still around for guidance and to talk [expletive]. lol We are on the irrigated ground now and we are having record yields. It's crazy. Even my uncle said "I've never seen so much corn come off this farm before." Of course it isn't worth much but the record yield might let us turn a little profit. No idea what happens going forward but we made it one more year.

Re: Random musings
I don't know if I married really well, others married poorly, or if my wife and I are just different than most others. My wife loves Christmas. Like it's her jam. She loves vintage ornaments and we have like three trees at our house she decorates. I don't get it personally, but the house looks beautiful when she's done and it makes her happy and that's all that matters to me.
So there was this Christmas market thing in Bloomington today that she wanted to go to so we went. As we walked in and she saw this giant event space of Christmas stuff she lit up well like a Christmas tree. That right there was completely worth the drive, the money, everything. We had a wonderful time, she was almost drunk on Christmas it was cute.
Of course there are a lot of other husbands there and I bet three or four times in the couple hours we were there someone would make some comment about "gotta go to these things to keep the wife happy." or some other 1950s sorta sexists comment implying that men only do things so that their life is easier because their wife is happy. Well I don't do it for that. I do it because it is something my loves, I love making her happy, not because it makes my life easier, but because it makes her life a little better.
I don't give a crap about Christmas, but I love my wife, and I really love seeing her enjoying herself. I'd drive to the other side of the world to give her the kind of joy she had today. I guess other's aren't like that? I'm starting to wonder if most people are unhappy in marriage? I mean I hear people say "oh god I'd never get married again." or when I was getting married several people said "sucker" when I told them. I love being married, I love doing things with my wife. It's sad if it's not like that for others.
Ok wall of text over.

Yes, @IMADreamer, you are unusual. I know this because I do the same sort of things, and I feel like I'm in a very small club.
"And you went on a Sunday, instead of staying home to watch football?? How can that be???"... is the sort of joking comment I would make to my wife... while I was there walking with her.

Why would someone get upset about a commercial for a scary movie, when they are preparing to sit down and watch grown men cause potential brain damage to each other for real?
And I guess they don't understand that the production company probably paid a whole lot of money for that timeslot, as that is arguably the most prime spot for an ad.

NFL fans furious over Super Bowl commercial: ‘Should be illegal’
The Super Bowl had yet to kick off Sunday evening when some fans were already upset with one of the commercials. Following the national anthem and before the start of the game, NBC cut to a commercial for “Scream 7″ -- a horror film that is set to come out later this month.
Needless to say, people were not happy about an ad for a scary movie being shown as families tuned in for the Super Bowl. "Showing a commercial for ‘Scream7′ at 5:30 pm right after the National Anthem and right before the Super Bowl kickoff should absolutely be illegal. So absurd,“ one fan said. Another added: "Seriously, why in the world was a commercial for Scream7 the first one after the anthem? Do they not remember that people watch the game with kids in the room? STUPID!"

Traditional Medicinals teas are awesome. Packing for a trip right now and instead of making sure I have access to a couple beers before bed when we inevitably arrive at like 1 am, I'm packing nighty night teabags. They've got other stuff too. I've started drinking the [expletive] out of tea.

Why isn't 44 spelled out "fourty four?"
