During lockdown I got a job remodeling an A frame cabin at Innsbrook. For a couple of months I'd drive west 45 mins early in the morning and was there by myself feeling like I was in the middle of nowhere. Became friendly with the neighbor but he wasn't around too much.
I think this is how Bon Iver albums are born.haltz wrote: ↑January 23 24, 1:16 amDuring lockdown I got a job remodeling an A frame cabin at Innsbrook. It was this time of year and it would get dark early. Always felt like I wasn't getting enough done, and it was more and more apparent that I underbid it with each passing day but i was also just happy to be working. The commute was ridiculous and it felt like the world had shut down and I was literally alone in the woods in this cabin by a lake.
It was m a transitional point in my life and there was a lot to think about personally and about the world in general. I listened to that Big Thief album a lot then and listening to that song just took me back there. I had forgotten quite a bit of that.
And I feel like Joe Biden. Could be worse, my friend.
