Re: Coronavirus
As a physician, I encourage my patients to learn more about their diagnosis or a particular procedure I'm performing on them but I also make sure they understand that their independent research does not equate to my education/experience.
This is what I don't understand about the anti-vaxxer crowd. All of them feel instantly qualified to analyze and arrive that their own scientifically unsound conclusions. As if all the virologists, epidemiologists, etc. do this as a part-time hobby and just happened to settle on the same overwhelming consensus across the globe. These people are dying from their own arrogance and willful ignorance. It's only their children who I genuinely feel bad for.

Re: Coronavirus
This is really it for me. It's not just pharmaceutical companies and the FDA/CDC. It's county and state health departments. City, county and state governments. Medical associations. Foreign health departments. Foreign governments. Communist, socialist, and capitalist governments. It's also not like anyone in these organizations or the wealthy are avoiding the vaccine. In fact they've been cutting in line to get it. The idea that this is about control or whatever is just ludicrous.BrntOrngStud wrote: ↑September 21 21, 9:53 pmAs a physician, I encourage my patients to learn more about their diagnosis or a particular procedure I'm performing on them but I also make sure they understand that their independent research does not equate to my education/experience.

Re: Coronavirus
This is so infuriating to hear FROM A DOCTOR. Do you feel that way for people who smoke, have complications from obesity, and other illnesses that are based on ones personal choices (for the most part).BrntOrngStud wrote: ↑September 21 21, 9:53 pmAs a physician, I encourage my patients to learn more about their diagnosis or a particular procedure I'm performing on them but I also make sure they understand that their independent research does not equate to my education/experience.

BTW, not all people hesitant to get this vaccine are Facebook sleuths and “part time virologists and epidemiologists”. We listen to NUMEROUS actual virologists and epidemiologists who don’t happen to agree w/ the official narrative, and guess what, they have predicted much of what we’re seeing today as opposed to our wonderful CDC & FDA.
May I ask what kind of doctor you are, and if you’re not a
virologist or epidemiologist maybe I suggest you step outside of your own bubble and listen to the people in those fields that don’t agree with what’s happening to see if maybe they might just be making sense.

Re: Coronavirus
Also, regarding your first statement….it’s great that you suggest people do their own research or a diagnosis or procedure on something you’ve advised them, but what good is it if what they happen to find contradicts (or has different findings) your diagnosis if all you’re going to say to them when they come back w/ that is “I’m the professional here….you don’t have my experience/knowledge so your findings are baseless”.BrntOrngStud wrote: ↑September 21 21, 9:53 pmAs a physician, I encourage my patients to learn more about their diagnosis or a particular procedure I'm performing on them but I also make sure they understand that their independent research does not equate to my education/experience.

Re: Coronavirus
Got my 3rd Pfizer shot last night. I slept until almost noon today and my shoulder is sore but overall the effects are less than the first two doses.

Re: Coronavirus
I had a non-COVID medical emergency last week.
Sat in the ER waiting room for nearly 4 hours in paralyzing pain waiting for a bed. They had to put me in an ER psych room because they were out of normal ER beds. Once I was stabilized (after 2.5 hours of getting worked on/trauma) they had to send me home because they didn't have normal beds. I really needed to be admitted for a day or two at least. Because of this, I had complications at home the next day and had to be rushed back to the hospital. Similar experience.
Not only were they over booked due to COVID, they were understaffed.
Get your shot!

Problem for me is it’a going to be….
Get your shot….and your shot….and your shot….and your shot times infinity
Your message should be :
Get Healthy!!! It drastically reduces your chance of being hospitalized by COVID.

Re: Coronavirus
But healthy people can still transmit COVID even if they aren't being hospitalized or don't even notice they have it. And they could transmit it to people who may not be healthy by no fault of their own. I am overweight but people who have cancer, auto-immune diseases, etc. What about their rights?cardinalkarp wrote: ↑September 22 21, 12:32 pmProblem for me is it’a going to be….

I guess people who are AT fault for not being healthy should just die or be put in death camps. Do you think I should die from COVID because I'm overweight?

Re: Coronavirus
But healthy vaccinated people can do the exact same thing, once the vaccinated people succumb to the fact that they too have every ability to transmit the virus then the unvaccinated won’t be the scapegoat in all of this.Fat_Bulldog wrote: ↑September 22 21, 12:36 pmBut healthy people can still transmit COVID even if they aren't being hospitalized or don't even notice they have it. And absolutely not, I feel everyone has a right to the hospital NO MATTER WHAT THEIR PERSONAL HEALTH CHOICES MIGHT BE.
