And that's it. On the other hand, potentially orders of magnitude more. There is not equivalence here.cardsfantx wrote: ↑September 9 21, 6:53 pmThis analogy may be the dumbest thing I’ve heard on this board.Socnorb11 wrote: ↑September 9 21, 4:54 pmcardsfantx wrote: ↑September 9 21, 4:13 pmBiden's announcement includes that and all health care workers must be vaccinated (no testing allowed instead)MrCrowesGarden wrote: ↑September 9 21, 1:48 pmLabor Department is going to require all companies with 100+ workers to have them vaccinated or submit to weekly testing
this is ironic coming from the administration from the same day in regards to TX abortion law...
so it's non negotiable that women have the right to make their own choices and decisions about their bodies, but also are required to inject something into their bodies that they may not want? seems....like a conflict?Vice-President Kamala Harris said the right of women to make their own choices on reproductive rights and decisions about “their own bodies” was “not negotiable”.
Yeah, I remember when a girl at work got an abortion, and all of the people that worked with her ended up with abortions too because she didn't quarantine. It's the exact same thing.
But I know where you’re going with it. Getting a vaccine protects others but an abortion only affects you.
Oh wait; no that’s right…there’s the baby

Re: Coronavirus
The vaccines do stop people from contracting or transmitting the virus, just not 100%. If you are fully vaccinated you are less likely to get infected at all, by a lot. How likely infected vaccinated people are to transmit the virus is unclear, but it appears at least somewhat less than unvaccinated people as the severity and duration of symptoms is lower, even if the "viral load" in some vaccinated people is the same as unvaccinated.cardinalkarp wrote: If the vaccine stopped one from contracting or transmitting the virus you would have a case, but as it stands, you don’t.
That issue would be massively mitigated by the first factor however if everyone interacting is vaccinated. Everyone being vaccinated compounds the odds of nobody getting infected in the first place.

I guess we’re about to test that theory. The U.S. numbers have ALWAYS been outdated, so I can bet we’re getting close to being more in line w/ other countries numbers (ie just as many vaccinated in the hospital as unvaccinated). If this doesn’t work (which my guess is it fails miserably), what was it all for?G. Oh that’s right we’ve just allowed big pharma to literally print $$$. Because say what you will, they are essentially making us on the hook for boosters FOR - [expletive] - EVER. Bank on it.

Every company providing medicine and equipment to the healthcare space is "printing $$$". You're tilting at windmills, Don Quixote.

Funny, Merck, one of the biggest manufacturers of ivermectin, have said it should not be used to treat Covid. Presumably they would be happy to take the windfall whether it works or not, being a greedy pharma company and all.cardinalkarp wrote: Oh that’s right we’ve just allowed big pharma to literally print $$$.
