Today started unexpectedly at 4AM, and ended at 8PM. And there's no Cardinals baseball. On the heyzeusian scale of worst days of my life this is about the 1,506th.

It's important to quantify these things. For science.CardsofSTL wrote:Today started unexpectedly at 4AM, and ended at 8PM. And there's no Cardinals baseball. On the heyzeusian scale of worst days of my life this is about the 1,506th.

My boss seems to think that since I have a laptop and can work from home, that I should take it home every weekend and do some work....
You don't pay me enough to work 7 days per week.
I am currently typing this on my work computer at 8:42 am on a Saturday...

Suggest that since you can work from home, you don't need to come to the office.wart57 wrote:My boss seems to think that since I have a laptop and can work from home, that I should take it home every weekend and do some work....

My brother sat next to Joe Buck on a flight from STL to Houston yesterday. Buck was prepping for WS Game 1. The binder he was reviewing was huge. My bro reports that Buck is a huge Blues fan, and they talked hockey for much of the flight. And Buck is as annoyed by Baby Shark as you are.

Re: Random musings
Before I left for the office this morning I saw part of some show where two guys were treasure hunting on some island. They were after some pirate's treasure that is supposed to be worth $30M. What a bunch of BS. Apparently you just need to find an island, make up some story about a mythical pirate and own a metal detector to get a show these days.
Their logic was unbelievably stupid in my opinion. At one point they were looking for evidence of a dock because they said the pirates would need a dock to get the treasure to shore. Uh, couldn't they have just used a dinghy and rowed right up to the beach? When they found a single piece of wood under the water near the beach they decided that was evidence of a dock so they were looking in the right place. Then when they were using the metal detector they got a hit and were all excited about how big it was. It was a beer can. So then they decided that they were in the wrong place because pirates wouldn't have buried treasure near where beer cans and other trash would wind up on the beach. Yeah, I'm sure that pirates a couple of hundred years ago were worried about beer cans washing up next to their buried treasure.
Then whole show was just so stupid. So who wants to pitch a show with me? I'll buy the metal detector but I need help coming up with the myth to get us the funding.

I spent about 10 solid minutes looking at pictures of Raiders owner Mark Davis this evening, because frankly I can't believe he exists.

How in the heck did the Native Americans survive the midwestern winter? It's not even winter yet and I just can't imagine being out on the prairie without heat.

Lewis and Clark would have surely died without the help of Native Americans in those winters.
