In my view, the Brewers and Reds have had outstanding drafts. The Cards have had a good draft. Pirates have been solid. Cubs have been fine, but probably last in my quick summation.

Also I’m not sure what you’re expecting but kind of just a guy is mostly what’s left in the 11th most every year. There’s some signability guys you could pick but I doubt the Cardinals have budgeted for it.

All bonuses are negotiated, so there isn't a set bonus for any pick in the draft, honestly. There are bonus pools for each team, with each slot through round ten having an assigned value, which sum up to the total pools.

After the 10th round you can sign any pick for up to 125k. After the 125k the money comes out of the bonus pool assigned to each team.

A team can go over their draft pool by up to 5% without a draft pick penalty. The money over the bonus pool is simply fined dollar-for-dollar.

Over 5% gets into draft pick penalties for the next draft class. No team has actually incurred those penalties to this point.

Last year, in the 11th round I loved our pick of Evan Mendoza and I said as much. This year I think we took just a guy and I said as much.

Okay, so any pick in rounds 11-40 whatever carry a max signing bonus of 125K and anything above that comes from the pool allotted from the picks in rounds 1-10. Thanks, guys.

Round 13: Colin Schmid, a LHP from Appalachian State.

Schmid features a sinking fastball that runs from 86-90 mph, as well as a good curveball and a very good changeup. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound left-hander is a strike-thrower and has shown to be a competitor when faced with adversity.

Round 14: Brandon Riley, a 2B from North Carolina.

Round 15: Mike Brettell, a RHP from Central Michigan.

The 6-foot-3 righty was a workhorse for Central Michigan, leading the team with 15 starts and 93 innings pitched this season, including two complete games. He's flashed very good stuff at times. Brettell has a 90-to-94 mph fastball with darting sink and maintains his velocity, but he gets hit if he leaves the ball up. Brettell also has a slider to work with his fastball, although his changeup floats a little too much.

Round 16: Evan Sisk, a LHP from College of Charleston.

Round 17: Kyle Leahy, a RHP from Colorado Mesa University.

Round 18: Cole Aker, a RHP from University of Tampa.

Round 19: Josh Shaw, a 2B from St. John's.

Round 20: Parker Kelly, a RHP from Oregon.

Any word on why Gorman got to 19? Are teams convinced he's a 1b or was there something else causing concern?

I think him and Singer just lost a couple coin flips and could've gone 10 picks higher with different luck, or teams picking in a different order
