Never mind that Houston is one of the most diverse and progressive cities in the country, voting for Obama twice and Hilary in 2016. Even if that weren't the case, what a gross sentiment.

The Columbia River Gorge--which has to be on the shortlist for most beautiful place in the U.S.--is engulfed in flames because some 15 year-old boys were playing with firecrackers in/to spite of passersby telling them how wildly dangerous it was given our summer.
I have a lot of memories out there. Hell, my 5-year old does. Pretty heartbreaking/infuriating. My car is covered in ashes, but that is the least of my worries.

I don't have any memory from my childhood of a fire season like what I saw visiting Oregon last week. Maybe that's my memory, but it sure seems crazy bad. So much smoke at Crater Lake, you couldn't see the surface from the rim in many places.BottenFieldofDreams wrote:The Columbia River Gorge--which has to be on the shortlist for most beautiful place in the U.S.--is engulfed in flames because some 15 year-old boys were playing with firecrackers in/to spite of passersby telling them how wildly dangerous it was given our summer.

Do you have a sense of how bad's the Gorge fire damage is going to be? The news photos sure look terrible.
