Did they list venues yet? Unfortunately, I doubt Mpls/St.Paul will host anything unless it's at the Gophers football stadium. the new Vikings monstrosity has an artificial turf and I assume the to-be-built MN United stadium will be too small for a WC game.

I think it's a great idea. Has there ever been a World Cup that was hosted jointly by multiple countries? Seems like that would be the kind of thing that the organizers are looking for.

Except they're probably looking for money.

I think it's a great idea. Has there ever been a World Cup that was hosted jointly by multiple countries? Seems like that would be the kind of thing that the organizers are looking for.

Japan and South Korea co-hosted in 2002. I'd guess co-hosting will be more common with the larger tournament.

FIFA won't let world cup games be played in anything smaller than NFL stadiums.

Japan and South Korea co-hosted in 2002. I'd guess co-hosting will be more common with the larger tournament.

This joint bid is strictly happening as a last-minute scramble to contend with the Trump administration. FIFA won't give a world cup to a country that won't let in Iranian fans, North Korean fans, Iraqi fans, etc. So the 10 games played in Canada in Mexico would be logistical support to back-door a potential travel ban. I guess they'd just cross their fingers that any teams from the travel banned countries don't make the knockout round somewhere in the US? Or they're counting on a more lax administration being in place when the time comes. Had Clinton been elected, US Soccer would've made a solo bid.
