people in st louis/going to the game may not, but the country sure is/the people watching on tv. sunday is 1/1, so that's when they'd be recovering from new years eve/no one takes off the day after new years day/there's no need to?; and people with vacation time, starts over 1/1, so they don't have time built in to take off yet since it's a new year.lukethedrifter wrote:People aren't working on Monday since Sunday is New Years Day.
(i own my own business now, but was in corporate forever previously...every company in DFW, and corporations around the country were switching to a new format where you didn't get your 1, 2, 3 weeks vacation (or whatever you have) starting 1/1 anymore/up front...you accrued your vacation time throughout the year. unless you call in sick, not too many people in corporate america have a day to take off 1/2)
and that's not really the point. why not have it on sunday? last week of NFL/no real competition for those crap games where everyone is being rested. there's already one NHL outdoor game on sunday, 1/1...why not have 2, with one starting later?
i'll be having to DVR, as i assume lots of people will.
