Gashouse-we plan to just dip and drink water from the late. Is that still good?

That's often what we'd do, but it's safer to get off shore just a bit to do it - or so we always thought. Beavers carry giardia --> their houses are on shore --> shores sometimes don't mix as well. So, we'd paddle out 10-20 yards, then put water bottles as far below the surface as we could to avoid anything that's caught in the surface of the water.

There seems to have been a run on dumb people visiting Yellowstone and doing dumb things like falling into geysers, or putting bison in their car.
But it's not a new thing. Here's a history
one of dumbest thing I ever did was at Smoky Mtn Natl Pk - saw a small traffic jam looking up a hillside, -has to be a bear - so I pull over, get out of the car to see what's going on, and forget to put the car in park - my kid is in a carseat btw. I was lucky to scramble back in and stop it pretty quickly. Got a blurry photo of a bear from about 50 yards away.
Was in Cades Cove once, people were fighting all over themselves to get closer to the bears.

Just went to Portland (and put birds on things!). We had 2 kids under the age of 5 with us, so hikes had to be somewhat limited. But in one day, we saw several awesome falls, swam in the Columbia River, picked fruit at a fruit farm, and hiked high enough on Mt Hood to play in some leftover snow. Zeus Jr. Jr. had never seen snow before, and Zeus Jr. had only seen it once when he was 1. Not bad, that Oregon.

My sister moved to the PNW and is spitefully taunting me with pictures of this kind of crap on a daily basis. She would claim that she is just instagramming her and her family's daily life, but I know what she's actually doing.heyzeus wrote:Just went to Portland (and put birds on things!). I did the same thing. 105 back in Austin? Here, friends and loved ones, enjoy a series of photos of my family wearing hoodies, enjoying artisan biscuits.thrill wrote:My sister moved to the PNW and is spitefully taunting me with pictures of this kind of crap on a daily basis.
