Reality is stranger than fiction.Freed Roger wrote:That story and timing is incredible. I don't think any Hollywood production could come up with as bizarre cast of characters and backstory as this pres. election cycle -which hasn't even had a primary vote yet.
....The scandal-probe target of overambitious debate team winner wife of ex-president who had an affair on her.
The aged hippie liberal, long time Senator from the state of Granola -that has a cult following amongst young people.
xenophobic Neo-fascist sons of Cuban immigrants.
PT Barnum Reality TV show star. Endorsed by fubar fellow reality TV star that most would still hit it.
The black surgical genius that overcame humble beginnings, discrimination, separated conjoined twins - yet still feels compelled to create dozens of fake backstories and doesn't believe in evolution, and likes guns.
The smarter brother of another ex-president that can't get any traction.
Zero qualification CEO-faux Tigress that wants to be first woman president.
Dudes actually named Martin O'Malley and Rand Paul.
Obama's a character in it, not sure where to even begin...
Meanwhile, the thing is a charade anyway -with control over statehouses and municipalities uber wealthy and corporations run the whole damn thing anyway and a citizenry of sheeple that could care less( trying to lure Slide back - WTF is he banned?)
Who am I missing? Even though this story is real, at least a fake sort of real - it is a plot far too contrived for most anyone, even politicos, to maintain steady interest in.
Rand Paul - son of former Libertarian stalwart and actually named after Ayn Rand(?)

Re: 2016 Election Thread (My God Kill Me Now)
From another thread
It's the atmosphere that I dropped in to talk about. To the right of me was a guy who was fairly quiet up until the point he asked the guy to his right if the woman with him was his mother. She was not.
To the left of me were four men, in their fifties, clearly friends. They started talking politics, etc "the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim", "Obama is a Muslim", "I like a president who sends the troops in, boots on the ground" etc. It was pretty disgusting.
Crazy thing is that the guy to the right of me had gotten wound up talking at the hockey game, "Shattenkirk is overrated", "Reaves really plays with his head up, I like him", calling out players by name- incorrectly. And strangely loud. Like his meds suddenly wore off.
Anyway, when he heard the Obama bashing he turned his chair toward them and started lecturing them on the price of crude when Obama entered office etc. Was really amazing to watch how he somehow managed to out obnoxious the guys to my left.
Sadly I did not. Instead I stopped by Michael's on Manchester where I sat at the bar and had a gyro salad. Not great.lukethedrifter wrote:I'm thinking about heading out to get a mother clucker.
