If you are ever in Los Angeles and looking for a place to stay downtown, consider the Cecil Hotel. There's wi-fi in the lobby, and a continental breakfast, and at least three of the four water tanks on top of the building are guaranteed to not have corpses in them. And there will probably be no serial killers living there.

I remember a long time ago when we were driving someplace and my mom told me that any hotel advertising weekly rates is someplace you want to stay away from.

I hadn't heard anything about this story since the initial news reports 2 1/2 years ago.

Here's a long (long!) story about the young woman found in the tank. Turns out that she was bipolar and on meds, and the cops are pretty sure that she climbed in the tank herself while she was having a psychotic episode.

I've noticed that in downtown St. Louis many of the sidewalks have painted directions on them that say "Gateway Arch" with an arrow directing you to the monument. Why would you need this? If you look up in the sky, there is a big [expletive] n' arch - 600+ feet. Walk *that* direction, and you should find it.

It is so the people so engrossed with looking down at their phones are walking along the sidewalk, they don't have to lift their heads to see where they are going, the can just glance to the side and see the directions on the sidewalk.

It is so the people so engrossed with looking down at their phones are walking along the sidewalk, they don't have to lift their heads to see where they are going, the can just glance to the side and see the directions on the sidewalk.

There's a Popeyes Chicken by my house that never got any business. The shopping center it's located in was doing some sort of parking lot repair so they took that opportunity to tear down their building and put up a new one. It re-opened today and there's a line out the door plus about 20 cars in the drive thru. It's the same [expletive] food, people!
