Because of stuff like this, I feel obligated to check out every charity to which I donate, and I turn down unsolicited requests. This specific case is overt fraud, but so many charities seem to send small percentages of donated monies to those most in need.

Marco Rubio's wife was paid 54k to work for a private foundation that spent $150,000 on travel and granted $250 to charities.

I don't understand how they do this. I ran investment management/taxes for private foundations and we had strict donation requirements.

Deadspin had an interview with an anonymous agent once. He talked about how athletes' charitable foundations are usually ways to get family members paid.

A Montrose, Iowa man claims a land agent tried to get him to give up property rights, in exchange for the services of a prostitute, more than once.

Hughie Tweedy said he recorded two of his conversations with a land agent trying to get access rights to property for the Bakken Pipeline in Lee County in southeastern Iowa, according to a report from KBUR Radio.

“On these recordings you will hear evidence of my senior pipeline representative offering me not once, not twice, but three times the sexual services of a woman, the last time being a $1200 teenage prostitute,” Tweedy said at a news conference he held on the steps of the Iowa statehouse Monday morning, May 11, 2015.

Rex Sinquefield - Missouri's version of the Koch Brothers has the Show-Me Institute - is almost entirely political and somehow manages to be a 501C3 - so donors get tax deduction, in addition to the political agenda. Though many churches aren't much different.
