The $10 “Meat Mountain” from Arby’s

One of the reasons we have so much meat is because of the way we subsidize ag. It makes it a lot easier to get cheap meat and other ingredients. I think if we didn't subsidize ag so much we'd still have fast food chains of some kind but they'd probably be different. We'd probably have fewer meat mountains, or if we did they'd cost quite a bit more than $10.

Also, this isn't really pointed at anyone and I mostly kvetch because Mrs. AW is this way big time, who the [expletive] cares what kind of meat it is? I'm sure if you have some advanced palette or pay attention or whatever, you can tell the difference between free range chicken that paraded their days away pecking on organic grass/feed/whatever and a chicken that was shot full of steroids and antibiotics being fed 8 pounds of disgusting slop while living in a 1 foot cube. But....that's for the heuty teutie to discuss. We're talking about arby's. Suffice to say, they pass the FDA requirements, probably barely, and they have a meat mountain for sale for $10. This isn't going to be some high quality chicken/ham/roastbeef/bacon. Which brings me back to my long-winded point: Who cares what it is?

There are only a few questions you really need to be worried about:
Does it taste good?
Is it going to make you violently ill?
Did someone rub their nuts on it?

If the answers are Yes, No, No, bring it on.

For me, it's
- Does it taste good?
- Will I regret myself after eating it?

I just won't eat certain foods that actually taste good to me ever. Donuts for one, not worth it. 5 minutes of enjoyment followed by 2 hours of seizures. Seriously, I feel like I'm going to go into diabetic coma after I eat them.

As far as the organic, sometimes it does taste better (maybe usually?) and I think long term it's better for you.

I have prepped my colon for spicy food over the years, so that doesn't really bother me.

Arby's uses processed beef so it is basically 'cow ham'. Only good smothered in cheese on onion roll with a bit of arbys sauce

Does the dog taste good? Would it make me sick? Did the neighbors cook the dog, rub their nuts on it, then try to feed it to me? That's my standard for if I'll eat something or not, though I would probably never eat dog cause I can't imagine it tastes too good. You keep bringing the treatment of animals into it for some reason. Everyone eats mass produced meat, and it's silly to act like the only places that use it are fast food restaurants.

I couldn't care less about dogs. If you want to get rid of puppy mills, cool. I would bet money that arby's meat is not dog.
