I'm not even going to contest the fact that it's a media created [expletive] storm. It completely is. For a completely good reason: taking the stances that Tony Dungy takes is unacceptable. He's paying the "consequences," if you can even call it that, for his words. If one is going to play the martyr card, at least play the part.

Gay marriage has NOTHING to do with building a football team.

I'm pretty firmly against the Republican party right now......... but if I were trying to build the best football team and the best players were Republicans, I wouldn't give a second thought to drafting them. Would you?

Tony Dungy is against adultery, too.............. but that doesn't mean that he expects all of his players to be monogamous in order to be on his team.

You're REALLY stretching to connect dots here, trill.

I'm not sure how you can reach that conclusion if Dungy himself said Sam belongs in the league.

See, I completely disagree with this. Maybe I'm a bad Christian, but my Christianity has NO impact on most of the business decisions that I make on a daily basis. Seriously........ none.

Sure. You're absolutely entitled to disagree with his stance on gay marriage. I just disagree that there is a connection between that and his mindset when building a football team. I think that's the crux of our disagreement.

Right. That's how he basically said he'd draft him if he was straight. The determining variable is his sexuality. And the morally correct stance would be to give someone a chance who's part of an oppressed class.

It's not a football perspective if the football perspective says he's a worthy player.
