Rob Ford offered $5000 and a car for the incriminating crack video

Alleged gangster Liban Siyad, got a phone call just before 1 a.m. on April 20, at which time he was allegedly told to go to 15 Windsor Rd., believed by police to be a crack house, because "Rob Ford wants some drugs."

Man breaks into home, claims it is his, has legal standing.

Remind me never to go to Ohio.

Legal standing is something different. It means you have a right to assert a claim that a court has jurisdiction to consider. So yeah, any person has standing to file a quiet title claim and allege adverse possession of property, including him.

But.

This guy's been arrested for breaking and entering and theft. In no state, including Ohio, can you enter someone's home, throw out the possessions, change the locks, and claim it's now yours. Every state has laws on adverse possession, which require you to openly and continuously occupy a property for a period of time, without being told by the rightful owner to get out, before it becomes yours. In Ohio (and many places), you have to do this for 21 years before you can quiet title in your name.

Adverse possession is designed to encourage abandoned property to be useful again. It's hard to establish, intentionally, to prevent someone from just stealing property.

There are plenty of other valid reasons not to go to Ohio, though.

Here is a spectacular WTF moment brought to you courtesy of 1993, via Slate:

I'm going to violate my most sacred principle and use a spoiler tag, because the reveal is just too good. First, the 1993 headline:

"Anti-Soviet warrior puts his army on the road to peace"

Actually, most of you can probably guess it from that, but here's a picture of the original article

this is a move that sovereign citizen movement is doing elsewhere. And reading that article makes it sound like he is one of them.

Their level of misunderstanding of the law and general stupidity would be funny except that it causes real harm to people.

Other things they do are file bogus legal claims to tie up the court system

Oh, denying the US Constitution is valid, that maritime law takes precedence and my favorite... that shooting cops is acceptable.

Remember that Tila Tequila chick? That slutty-looking You Tube girl that had the reality show "A Shot at Love"? The hook was that she's supposedly bisexual, so there were both dudes and chicks trying to win the dating competition.

Turns out that she's crazy, and a Nazi.

This wouuld have made her dating show more interesting.

Her website is a fascinating display of mental illness and a pathological need for others to hate her.
