Was that the guy we did or almost drafted years ago? Or wasn't his name Kris Austin or Kris Wilson? Or am I completely confused?lukethedrifter wrote:Austin Wilson again, eh?

We drafted him and he opted for college. It was going to take 1st round money to buy him out of his scholarship.mikechamp wrote:Was that the guy we did or almost drafted years ago? Re: 2013 MLB Draft Thread
I'd be pretty underwhelmed with most of those drafts. Not a Cabot Jagielo, Crawford is a guy who has underperformed this year, and Hunter Renfroe is a funky player who is a bit of a one year wonder. Can't imagine him being a star.
Dominic Smith is an undersized, 1B only prospect with a great arm and underwhelming power. I never want to draft a 1B only prospect out of high schoolin the 1st round (or even a college 1B only guy) early.
I don't want Peterson either and he'll probably go top-15 or so.
Such an interesting draft I'm looking forward to seeing what strategy we employ. I still wouldn't have taken Ramsey last year, even with knowledge of already getting to AA. I wish we'd have come out with Robert Stephenson instead, whom I had top-10 overall last year.

Seth Manaea just got lifted from the Indiana State-Creighton game without throwing a single pitch. That's not going to help him.

Manea`s shoulder started to inflame. He started to feel it during his warm up pitches. They don`t know if he`ll pitch the rest of this season.

Thanks. That's going to hurt his draft stock.IndyCards13 wrote:Manea`s shoulder started to inflame. He started to feel it during his warm up pitches. They don`t know if he`ll pitch the rest of this season.

Re: 2013 MLB Draft Thread
Manea has had a hip problem all season. It recently flared up again and he got a cortisone shot this week. But this time his shoulder acted up. He`s going to be reevaluated this week.
