A doctor can say, uh, hey, uh, coach. That guy there. That guy has a torn XYZ. I never heard Andrews say he did that. He can't just say, I'm scared to death.... In my opinion Griffin shouldn't have started the game, or last weeks or the week before, etc. with a sprained knee. He did and it has possibly cost him his career. Hope not, but the odds of having a successful outcome for a 2nd ACL replacement are not good. And, Griffin isn't Peyton Manning, he'll need his legs.

I don't care who you put the blame on, at some point, somebody has to take responsibility and say that was a plumb stupid [expletive] idea and stop putting wins above players. If you want to say it is the coach, the player or the doctor, you'd be right. The NFL has shown in the past to have zero [expletive] clue how to do that and in the future don't look to be showing much improvement.

I was watching that game without the sound and knowing nothing about RGIII. I just assumed he had pulled a muscle or something. Had I known he had previously torn his ACL and had sprained one of the 3 other ones just a couple weeks ago and was like 50%, no way in hell would i have thought he should have been out there.

Yup his knee is toast, and if this is his 2nd ACL tear on the same knee...he won't be scrambling long (or at all) in the NFL in the future.

Hope he's a good pocket passer.

Man, I tend to think the same thing........ but then you look at Adrian Peterson, and I wonder if maybe ACL surgery is the new Tommy John surgery.

Even if it is, how many pitchers have had TWO (2) TJ surgeries and returned?

I've never known anyone to have two ACL surgeries and be back at 100%.

Very true. I keep hoping that he can make a full recovery, but it's pretty hard to fathom that a guy that's been re-attached 2 times will be able to play with the reckless abandon that he does.

I saw that when it happened and knew he was screwed. Actually the way he hobbled after the first one showed me that he had some real instability. He looked like his lower leg felt heavy ( because it does when it's not attached right).


This idiot Lillibridge on 101 this morning was RAGING about the poor field conditions- he's a player agent and said he'd sue- yet totally supported Shanahan et al because you have to let the player decide.

I agree that the field looked to be in pretty [expletive] condition. That said, when he went limping off the first time it's sheer negligence to put him back out there. Hell, the massive brace on his knee gave me the impression he probably shouldn't have been in the game period.

I doubt it. Remember this is the 2nd ACL surgery on RG3 knee (I think). The first surgery is your strongest, the 2nd is weaker. Plus his 1st surgery didn't last, obviously, so it makes you question if he'll be as mobile. He still may be a great pocket passer that can scramble, but I think his more mobile days are over.
