OK, during the food tournament I said there was no such thing as a bad gyro. Fozzie's has changed my mind. It's a huge pile of lettuce and cucumbers on top of very little meat. Thumbs down.

Thanks for the heads up, will cancel plans to try that.

Having enjoyed 99% of my gyros at the Majestic, I have stumbled across some bad gyros at sandwich shops. Without that rotisserie deal, then it isn't going to be the same.

I told you they exist.

I ate at Fozzie's this weekend and thought it was pretty solid. I had Da Dip and the parmesan herb chips, and they were both really good. They [expletive] up our order and several other orders while we were there, but eventually made ours right. And obviously they could use more seating.

Anybody who orders a gyro at a non Middle Eastern place gets what they have coming.

Working late tonight and seeing this thread inspired me to head over now to get a legend club.

I know a guy who proposed to his girlfriend with a sandwich from Adriana's. It's her favorite thing, and there was a ring involved - but it's still a sandwich.

Anyway, that place is great.

My daughter told me that the only way to properly propose was to go to a fancy restaurant that serves pretzel bread. Stick the ring on and surprise the girl with it. I think her Mom let's her watch too much Disney Channel.
She later corrected herself to say bread sticks not pretzel bread.

Tried Fozzie's again today. I was not impressed with the Big Bend Mafia. The salsiccia was a weird textural surprise, the beef was ok, and carrots are totally unnecessary. I also ate part of a Jucy Lucy which was underwhelming. The parm chips were soggy. Between Legrand's, BCD, Adriana's, Gioia's etc, I don't really see the need to go back.

Best gyro I've ever had was at Skorpio's Charcoal Grill in Vienna, VA.

The guy who owns the place is from Boston and has Italian and Greek heritage.
