:obucardheadbang: No, if you followed the Rams closely this season, you could tell Karney was falling out of favor. He doesn't play ST and that's one of the reasons he was cut.

Why wasn't he cut earlier?
Miller went onto IR in the 4th to last game or sometime like that. And Jackson is good friends with Karney. I doubt he would have been happy if he was cut in the middle of the season.

Not surprised by that. He was due an $8 mil. roster bonus on Monday. The Rams might be planning on moving Murphy to safety or drafting one early now.

It sounds like the Rams are ready to re-sign Mark Clayton. I'm willing to give it a try as long as they see him as a #2 (or 3 if you like Avery) and not a #1. He can be a piece of the puzzle as long as he isn't THE piece.

Am I the only one hoping that Julio Jones' momentum carries him up and out of the Rams' range? I don't get why so many teams underrate concerns about a receiver's hands, and it seems to be a major blind spot for this current regime. Yeah, we need a #1 WR. So trade up to get the best WR or just put it off a year, because the chances of a flawed rookie WR performing like a #1 WR are pretty much nil.

Because of an injury that shouldn't effect his career and a disappointing offseason, Da'quan Bowers has gone from a guy with a pretty good chance of going #1 overall to someone who may slip to, or past, the Rams. I'm no fan of the college game, so I just rely on expert opinions. On the plus side, he was the #1 recruit coming out of high school and he was considered probably the best defensive player in college last year. Nobody really seems to question that he'll start from day one. On the down side, he was a bust until last year, he has plenty of strength but not explosive strength, and he pretty much just bull-rushed his way through crappier tackles than he will face in the NFL last season. Most mocks also seem to have him dropping only as far as #12. It would take a fourth and a sixth to move up those two spots, but it seems like Minnesota would be receptive.

I know DT is the bigger need, but Fairley is less likely to slip and Liuget would be a need pick that early. Spagnuolo apparently builds around his ends anyway, though it's very possible that Bowers isn't the kind of ready-made pass rusher he's looking for.

Rams kickoff the NFL preseason by playing in the HOF game against the Bears in Canton, Ohio.

Other preseason matchups:

Week 1: vs Colts
Week 2: vs Titans
Week 3: at Chiefs
Week 4: at Jaguars

I guess they've done a partial schedule leak or something, because it's being reported the Rams have at least one Monday Night game this year on Week 2 versus the Giants.
