If this tweet is accurate and it hit the building across the street (closest thing to a yellow building), then I don’t see how the other homers come close to that distance.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑July 5 25, 3:40 pmhome run measurement distances are a scam and government cover up.st.lewis11 wrote: ↑July 5 25, 3:28 pmI thought Pozo's blast was a tape measure job, but according to MLB site, both Gorman's & Burleson's went further.

My brain has trouble wrapping itself around some of the estimates at times, but the math is fairly sound that they use.
A FanGraphs community post even concluded that nearly 80% of estimates are within a foot of accuracy.

You can see where the Gorman and Burly balls landed but there could be some extra distance added for balls like that are still on their downward track. It’s probably covered in your link but I’m too tired to dig into it now. Maybe after some sleep and caffeine tomorrow.
Not sure where Pozo’s landed - did it “clear the street” in the air or bounce across?
Interesting topic.

I honestly don't have any specifics on those three balls. It just interests me because of the math angle and the rise in technology.Radbird wrote: ↑July 5 25, 9:46 pmYou can see where the Gorman and Burly balls landed but there could be some extra distance added for balls like that are still on their downward track. Pulled HR's give an optical illusion that they are traveling further than they really are.
It doesn't matter that much to me, because Pozo's was the no-doubt HR of the bunch. It was never a question like it was for the other two because of ballpark dimensions and launch being perfect. Theres a reason every hitter is trying to pull fly balls.
